The Most useful Revit shortcuts I use everyday!

Revit user interface is easy and friendly, but if you want to be faster and cooler, you'll need to learn the shortcuts!

​Keyboard shortcuts can be found easily by hovering your mouse over any of the tools. If the marked tool has a default shortcut, it will show like the image to the side.

Alternatively, you can press K + Space ​to open the Keyboard Shortcuts menu and search for whatever tool you need

Top 20 most used Revit shortcuts

t really depends on your type of daily work. My favorite list of shortcuts is split into categories below:

1. Modeling
  • WA or W + Space: Create Wall
  • RP: Reference Plane
  • DR or D+ Space: Create Door
  • RM: Room
  • LI or L + Space: Model Line
  • DL: Detail Line
  • GR: Grid
  • SC, SE, SM: Snap to Center, Snap to End, Snap to Center (Used while creating elements to override snaps)
2. Modify Tools
  • MV: Move
  • TR: Trim
  • TTR: Trim Multiple (That's a custom shortcut I've created)
  • J + Space: Join (Custom shortcut)
  • JJ: Switch Join Order
  • WE: Edit Wall Join
  • AL: Align
  • AR: Array
3. Miscellaneous
  • SY: to Synchronize Now! (Custom shortcut)
  • HI: Isolate Element
  • HR: Reset Isolate/Hide Mode
  • K+Space: Open keyboard shortcuts menu (My latest favorite)​
